Tuffy is a Cockateil of great personality. She is a
female and doesn't talk. But that has never stopped her from getting
her point across.
She was a gift from a friend to another friend. Friend number two had no interest in having a bird for a pet. Of course I've always liked birds, so I volunteered to take her off his hands.
She was so happy to finally be getting some attention that she bonded with me right away. When ever I was in the house, she was near by
Unfortunately I deployed to Egypt for six months shortly
after bringing her home. She thinking that I had abandoned her,
bonded with Candace. She still prefers her over me, but has made
up with me after much cuddling.
She generally has free roam of the house, but stays in her house or on her play perch when we are not at home. She went through a couple of periods where she thought she shouldn't have to be put in her house at night. This led to wing clipping. Now she has learned that if she wants to be able to fly, she must play by the rules.
Tuffy does like to be the center of attention and isn't
camera shy at all. She likes to be talked to. Prefers women to
men (I suspect the higher pitched voices. Camie believes she is
just smart that way). And won't hesitate to clean your teeth for
you.
Her favorite activity is to be scratched on the back of the head. Her favorite roost is on top of a head. If you are wareing any jewelry she will gladly clean that for you too. Watch out for the ear rings though.

Any food good enough for you is good enough for Tuffy. She loves to share with you. Her favorite sit down meal is pasta noodles. Her favorite snack is potato chips.
She is quite the conversation piece and makes a great tree ornament during the holidays.

One of Tuffies favorite times of the year is Christmas. Not that she gets lots of presents, but she loves to be a tree orniment.
