Our Dobies
Max isn't quite sure what to make of our new family member
Coco. This is her first hour in her new home. She's just over 5 weeks
old here. Her mother weaned her and her 7 litter mates a little early...
and no wonder, Coco has very sharp teeth and is quite the nipper. Not a
bashful bone in her body either. She's quite forward and self-confident
even at this young age.

Elizabeth and Coco on the left, Ryan and Coco on the right. This was the day we picked her out, at two weeks of age (6/14/02). We really didn't have much choice as she was the only female left in the litter. After this, we couldn't wait to get her home and were anxiously counting the days.

Elizabeth and Coco on day 1. Elizabeth decided that Coco would be "mostly mine" shortly after she arrived home. Coco weighed right at about 5 pounds this day.

She's already a lap dog. 7 1/2 weeks old here. When
she's tired she'll cry at your leg to get on your lap... or alternatively,
the couch. Fast learner. On the right, Max has
to get in on the attention too. Initially he didn't want much to
do with her... but he's warming up to her. Frequent reassurances
and affirmations of affection to him have kept his displacement anxiety
as being replaced as the puppy to a minimum.

Coco went to the vet a week ago... she weighed 7 1/2 pounds. Today she weighed 11 1/2. Elizabeth isn't going to be able to hold her much longer.
Max thinks he's really a human. He always jumps right into the drivers seat whenever he gets into the car.
Getting Max to sit still long enough for these two pictures
was a major accomplishment.... Ryan did a very good job with that
as well with these, his first digital photos.
