Strawberry's Caballero, whelped June 29,1983 was the son of Ch. Indian Bend's Swiss Moca and Can. Ch. Mephisto's Bandalero. Cabby finished his American championship at the age of eleven months. He attained the championships of his parents, becoming both an American and Canadian champion. During his show career Cabby was a multiple BISS winner as well as a multiple group placer. He was the winner of the Veteran's Dog class for three days at the Seattle Regional specialty in 1990. Cabby was a Sire of Merit, producing twelve American champions, three Canadian champions, and two Venezuelan champions -- including a daughter who was a champion in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Colombia, The Dominican Republic, and a South American Champion -- as well as two Dams of Merit.Beyond his two championships and production record, Cabby was a dog with true Boxer temperament. He was quietly protective--not a rowdy barker at the gate, but a dog with intelligence who knew when to make his presence felt. He was a great companion who loved to go everywhere with us.
Cabby was affectionate and friendly with strangers when he knew that they had been accepted by us. He was the lord of his household; the other Boxers deferred to him. He had a dignity of bearing and a relationship with "his" people that inspired many of those who knew him to call him the "Gentle Giant." His friendship was unique. We miss him still.
