Strawberry's High Cherkei was whelped May 25, 1998. Her sire is Am/Can Ch. Strawberry's Conquistador and her dam is Hannah Heiress Claus. The grandsire on her dam's side is Ch. Cherkei's High Cotton SOM.Cheri/Kewpi went to live with Rozanne Lovell in mid July of 2000, took a short obedience course, and easily passed her initial evaluation to become a Delta "Pet Partner" in late Sept. of that same year. Upon receiving her license/registration, Rozanne and Cherie/Kewpi started visiting residents in local nursing homes and quickly moved on to patients in the local hospital. In January of 2001, she 'aced' the evaluation to add Therapy Dogs International (TDI) to her credentials. By this time, she was also visiting local schools .... mainly teaching a Bite Prevention/Respect for Animals" class. This dog *lives* to do her visiting and has warmed many a heart and taught many a lesson. In just 5 months as a TDI-registered dog, she had earned the first of their 'awards', the TDIA - Therapy Dog International Active (requiring 50 documented visits to approved facilities). During the ensuing 6 months, she went on to earn their top 'award', the TDIAOV - Therapy Dog International Active Outstanding Volunteer (requiring 150 documented visits to approved facilities). These letters may be used behind her name for all *except* AKC activities.
Besides being a good friend of ours through our Boxer connection, Rozanne exemplifies the best in a responsible, caring Boxer "parent." It is also important to note that Cherie does not get in the car, drive it to her destination, get out, register herself at these various sites. She has close and loving companions in Rozanne who forges a wonderful link with their Boxers and generously shares that with others.
