Hedge Hog Gym

This is B.G. in her bucket wheel. Hedgies need exercise. They seem to love to wheel. The bucket wheel seems to work better for hedgies. With the ferret wheels you would need to cover the rungs to keep them from falling thru. Besides these are cheap to make. There are several places on web to purchase.

This is Zoey in her Wheel. One draw back with wheels is poopy feet. You don't have to train the hedgies in the use of wheels. They figure it out very quickly.

This is the Pipe Pen. I made it out of 4" PVC pipe. There are 4 90' ells and 4 wyes. I perfered the wyes to tees, but either will work. I used 4" PVC pipe because the hedgies don't seem to be able to climb over.

I pick shady spot that I can watch. Add water and wheel. It is good spot for hediges when cleaning cages. I don't have to keep such a close eye on them. If neighbor cat comes over they can hide in pipe. Under my watchful eye the neighbor cat found out that two hedgies in pipe pen are no fun to play with.
